Mesquite Man Dies After Drunk Driver Crashes Into Home

Drunk DriverA Mesquite man died after a drunk driver crashed into his home on June 2, 2017. An 18-year-old man was behind the wheel when his SUV veered off of the road and hit the house. Two other people in the home were injured.

Another Tragic Example of a Drunk Driver Accident

This is a particularly tragic accident because it was preventable. Every time a drunk driver gets behind the wheel, that driver is not only putting his or her own life at risk, but also other motorists on the road. Not even people otherwise enjoying a peaceful evening at home are safe, in some instances.

In addition to the legal entanglements involved with drunk driving, someone who seriously injures or kills another person when drunk could also face a personal injury or wrongful death lawsuit. If a fatal accident occurs, the spouse and family members of the deceased have the right to pursue legal action.

However, people filing this type of lawsuit often go up against uncaring insurance companies that will do whatever they can in order to avoid paying fair compensation. Often times, a carrier may offer a settlement that doesn’t come close to being just. These are just a couple of reasons why you need to hire a skilled attorney if you ever suffer a severe injury or the tragic loss of a loved one due to the negligence of another party.
